Janet Karr has over four decades of title insurance experience and has been with Chicago Title since 1984. Ms. Karr is currently Vice President and Manager of our Commercial Real Estate Division and handles commercial transactions for local, state and national real estate, which includes closing and underwriting support. In addition, she has served in an advisory capacity for software systems utilized by the Chicago Title family. She is a member of the Texas Land Title Association and has chaired or served on numerous committees within the organization. A recipient of the TLTA Outstanding Young Title Person Award, Janet is also a Certified Title Insurance Associate. A founding member of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women), and past President of the Harris County Land Title Association, Janet also volunteers with several community and charitable organizations.

At Chicago Title, Ron is involved in new business development and in the management of current customer accounts. He has been with the company for 18 years, during which time he has promoted title business for Janet Karr and the Houston Commercial Operation. Prior to his work at Chicago Title, Ron was involved in business promotion for two other Houston area title companies. He also spent many years as an Oil and Gas Landman, researching title records throughout Texas.

Ron is a member of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, and is an alumnus of the University of Corpus Christi, now Texas A&M University.

Sue is responsible for generating new business opportunities by working with the key decision makers at various national and international companies and organizations. She is focused on developing collaborative strategies that ensure our continued growth and visibility within the market place and in the community. Sue’s professional experience includes 15 years in the title industry. She also has many years of experience working in real estate both on the sales and management side where she lent her talents in providing sales and leadership training. Within the title industry, Sue’s experience has included procuring many large national accounts and working with lenders, developers, corporations, attorneys, relocation companies and diversified commercial entities. She is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in Texas.

Patti has spent her entire 15-year career in commercial real estate. In the early years, Patti worked in a construction loan department at a bank, and then for a hotel developer. She has extensive experience in managing a commercial loan servicing department, working intently with both lenders and borrowers on existing commercial real estate loans. Her experience also includes working for a real estate attorney, representing parties on all sides of a transaction, including the seller, buyer and lender. She prides herself in understanding what is needed by all parties involved in commercial real estate transactions. She says that what sets her apart is the quick response that she is able to provide to her clients, as well as being able to solve problems, anticipate their needs, and personally answers phone calls.

Patti has a B.S. degree in Business Management from the University of Houston, and is a member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). She also serves as President for Pin Oak Townhomes Association, Inc.

Steve Sapio is a title insurance veteran with roots in the title examination segment of the business. He has a broad base of practical experience. He is skilled in obtaining information from title plants, having examined title from a variety of plants in many counties. He has examined all types of files and has specialized in complex commercial files for the past several years. In addition to title examination skills, Steve has management abilities. He has held title plant management positions in which he supervised the flow of work through the plant and trained other examiners while continuing to examine title when needed. These title examination responsibilities brought him into direct contact with underwriting counsel, from whom he learned the legal and underwriting aspects of the title insurance business. The continuing contact with underwriting counsel has equipped him to function as a title officer, providing underwriting assistance to title examiners, escrow officers and customers.

For many years, at the request of escrow officers, Steve has been directly involved in their transactions, researching and solving title problems, responding to objection letters, and advising on underwriting issues. The drive that has caused Steve to maximize his abilities has led him into business development. Partnering with various escrow officers to obtain and service title insurance business, he brings his examination, management and underwriting skills directly to the title insurance customer. He’s one of the few that really “do it all.”
