Mary Cantu

Mary has over 20 years of experience in the title industry, as well as almost 10 years of experience practicing real estate and title insurance law. Mary currently serves as an escrow officer for both our Memorial and Inner Loop locations, closing both commercial and residential transactions. Over the years, Mary’s professional experience includes serving as underwriting/regional counsel for major title underwriter; president of 2 local title operations in Houston; Director of Development for a major non-profit organization; and Vice President and Commercial Closing Attorney.

❝ I believe what sets me apart from the competition in my current role as Commercial Escrow officer is my many years of title industry and business experience. I was responsible for profitability, growth and expansion of 2 companies, so my experience encompasses creating and implementing strategic marketing plans; recruiting, hiring, training and developing talent; managing relationships with staff, customers, legal counsel, and senior management; interfacing with board members and senior management teams; and possessing legal knowledge of title insurance and real estate issues. These experiences allow me to relate to people at every level and in every profession. In addition, my experience and involvement with a major non-profit as well as years of volunteer work, fuels my compassion and passion for people and helping them solve their problems. I truly believe that it is everyone’s responsibility to provide support, assistance or a helping hand to others.

Mary has a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Houston, where she is a past recipient of the University of Houston Law Alumni Association President’s Award. She is also a member of Texas Land Title Association (TLTA), and previously served as Chair of TLTA’s Title School Committee, and as a speaker at TLTA Institute and at TLTA Title School. Additionally, Mary is a member of the State Bar of Texas, and the Houston Bar Association.
